- Account information: the email address and password you provide when creating an account. Your password is never stored in plain text — it is handled entirely by our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication) using industry-standard hashing.
- Payment information: we do not collect or store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVC. All payment processing is handled directly by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We retain only a Stripe-generated customer reference ID, your subscription status, and your membership tier — never your raw card details.
- Membership and subscription data: your membership tier (standard or founding), subscription status (active, canceled, payment failed), and subscription dates.
- Referral data: if you refer another member, we store your unique referral code and a count of successful referrals tied to your account.
- Communications: transactional emails we send you (welcome messages, payment notices, trial reminders) are sent through our email delivery provider, SendGrid, using your account email address.
We do not collect payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or sensitive personal information beyond what's listed above.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and verify your membership status
- To process your subscription payments (via Stripe)
- To send you transactional emails related to your account (welcome, payment issues, trial status, referral credits)
- To track and credit successful referrals
- To provide access to member-only content once your subscription is active
We do not sell your information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the third-party service providers necessary to operate the site — never for their own marketing purposes, and never sold to anyone:

Information shared with the providers above is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your account information within our own systems is restricted to what's necessary for site administration and is not shared internally beyond that purpose.
5. Data Security
- Passwords are hashed and never stored or visible in plain text
- Payment card data is never stored on our servers — it is handled entirely within Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant systems
- Account and membership data is stored using Google Firebase's infrastructure, which includes encryption in transit and at rest
- Administrative access to member data is restricted and requires authentication
- No security system is perfect — while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security
6. Cookies and Similar Technology
We use Firebase Authentication's session mechanism to keep you signed in between visits. This relies on browser local storage rather than traditional tracking cookies, and is used solely to maintain your login session — not for advertising or cross-site tracking.
7. Your Choices and Rights

- You may cancel your subscription at any time through the "Manage Subscription" option in your account, which is handled directly through Stripe's secure portal
- Depending on your state of residence (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have additional rights to access, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information — contact us to make such a request
8. Children's Privacy
Backstretchcapper is intended for users 18 years of age or older (or the legal age for wagering-related content in your jurisdiction, if higher). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
